| | When it comes to sustainable development, the urban underprivileged is seen as an obstacle rather than an asset by many authorities in North America. Ontario Small Hand™ will work hard to refute this perception by getting the most socially excluded members of our society involved in a practical and constructive campaign to empower themselves, develop their communities and strengthen the economy. The benefits are twofold, firstly, it creates new taxpayers in an ever-growing industry and secondly, it reduces the expenses of the municipal and provincial governments. Moreover, unemployment and underemployment of "at-risk" communities have detrimental effects on our society that can permanently impair employability and result in economic stagnation. When citizens have fewer liquid assets, they have less money to spend on goods and services which translate into less tax dollars for the government. Together with a shared vision, we can take practical steps to assist these individuals by reducing their economic dependence on social programs for their survival. To this end, we endeavour to create new jobs in the cleaning and maintenance field by making this segment of the population stakeholders and help them to recognize and utilize their potential to elevate themselves from the status of social receipients to tax contributors thereby integrating them into the economic transformation of the society. | |
